John Lawrence McIntyre, 81, of Yale, passed away peacefully Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Marlette Hospice Center with loved ones by his side.
He was born in Pt. Huron on January 23, 1944, the son of the late Ray and Mable (Burns) McIntyre.
His marriage to Pam Burton was July 16, 1966, in Yale.
Larry proudly served his country in the United States Army National Guard from 1965-1971. He worked for the St. Clair County Road Commission as a road grader for 30 years. Larry also worked for Yale Public Schools for 11 years and was known as "Lunch Line Larry". He was a member of the Yale Lions Club and a long-time member of the Yale Rec. Department, coaching both baseball and softball. Larry was an avid Bulldogs sports fan/supporter. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding motorcycles and a good cigar. He loved watching all of his grandchildren playing various sports. He will be greatly missed by all.
Larry is survived by his loving wife Pam of 59 years; a son, Steve (Nikki); a daughter, Stacey (John) Donnellon; ten grandchildren, Travis, John (Kati), Ali (Lynden), Brooke and Emma McIntyre, Matthew (Sophia) Mark (Madison), Paul, Garret and Connor Donnellon; one great-grandchild, Carter McIntyre; sisters-in-law, Ruth McIntyre, Janice McIntyre, Linda (Keith) Lossing and Louanne (Jim) Worton; brother in-law, Gary Kettlewell; his special friend, Fr. Tom Mulally as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He is predeceased by his siblings, Cecile Leibler, Pat, Mike and Joe McIntyre; a sister-in-law, Diane Kettlewell.
The family honors the memory of Larry and invites you to visit and share memories Monday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Kaatz Funeral Directors, Yale. A Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. visiting at the funeral home. Fr.Tom Kuehnemund, pastor will officiate. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to Marlette Hospice.
