John K. McLouth, 85 of Willmar, died on Thursday August 28, 2025 at Cura Therapy Suites in Willmar. Services are pending with the Harvey Anderson and Johnson Funeral Home in Willmar

John Knute McLouth was born on December 9, 1939 in New London, the son of Vincent and Josephine (Gjerde) McLouth. He attended grade school in New London, before moving with his family to Kerkhoven where he graduated in 1957. On May 18, 1968, John was united in marriage to Donna Denton in Kerkhoven. They made their home in Kerkhoven until moving to Plainview, where they welcomed their daughter Tressa. The family eventually settled in Mora where John worked as the Water Utilities Superintendent for over 20 years. He retired in 2000 and built a new home in New London where they lived until moving to Willmar in 2013.

John loved to travel and go on adventures both near and far, he was always on the go. He loved to cook for family and friends, including annual lutefisk feeds. John had the ability to chat with anybody and was always willing to help out friends and neighbors. He was a lifetime member of the Minnesota Wastewater Operators Association and was very active within the draft horse community.

John died on Thursday August 29, 2025 at Cura Therapy Suites in Willmar at the age of 85. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Donna; daughter, Tressa (Garett) McLouth Shun; grandsons, Declan and Dane Shun; and siblings, Emogene Nelson, Janie Schoen and Kathryn (Lowell) Roisum along with many extended family members and close friends.

John was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Janet Thorson, and brothers-in-law Harvey Nelson, Lowell Thorson, and Bob Schoen.
