John Mead

John Paul Mead, age 79 of Alliance, died at 12:25 a.m. September 11, 2004 at Community Care Center. Mr. Mead was born March 3, 1925 in Alliance, Ohio to Daniel and Winniferd (Malone) Mead and was a lifelong resident of Alliance. He was employed at Morgan engineering in maintenance until retiring after 32 years. Mr. Mead was a member of Union Avenue Methodist Church, Elks, and the American Legion for over 50 years. He was a U.S. Army 37th infantry division Veteran and served in the South Pacific. Survivors include his wife Deloris Jean (Drinkhouse) Mead, whom he married June 20, 1952, one son Charles Mead of Alliance and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Winnie Mae Mead and one brother Thomas Reed. Interment will be at Fairmount Memorial Park.
