John "Butch" Anthony Modrick, age 79, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at Andover Village Nursing Home.

Born in Akron, Ohio, on February 21, 1946, Butch was the beloved son of the late John and Olga (Cikovic) Modrick. A gifted artist from an early age, he attended Cooper School of Art, then continuing his creativity, turning it into a long and fulfilling career as a card artist for American Greetings, where his work brought joy and connection to countless lives.

After retiring, Butch found new inspiration behind the lens of a camera. His love for photography led him to explore nature's beauty through travel and hiking, always in search of the perfect shot. He also found joy in quiet moments-solving jigsaw puzzles and playing Canasta with family and friends. He also loved listening to music, specifically, the Moody Blues.

Butch is lovingly remembered by his sisters, Sandra Modrick and Linda (Craig) Thoricht; his brother, Paul (Gail) Modrick; and a host of nieces and nephews who will cherish his warmth, humor, and artistic spirit. He was preceded in death by his parents, whose memory he carried with him always.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Childs-Williams-Ducro Funeral Home, 1071 SR 7 N., Pierpont, Ohio. Online condolences and remembrances may be shared at www.ducro.com.
