Passed away Thursday morning, February 26, 2026, at Healthsource Saginaw. Age 84 years. John was born on September 26, 1941, in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Dr. Leonard J. and Eunice (Jones) Morgrette. He married Vickie C. Jewell on June 11, 1960. She survives him. They were blessed with two sons, John R. Morgrette, Jr., Saginaw, and Thomas (Michelle) Morgrette, Saginaw; two grandchildren, Michelle (Collin Schwartz) Morgrette, and Jeffery Morgrette; two great-grandchildren, Damien Morgrette, and Olivia Schwartz; three brothers, Jim (Cheri) Morgrette, Harley (Sharon) Morgrette, and Ted (Julie) Morgrette; and one nephew, Brandon Morgrette. He was predeceased by a nephew, Matthew Morgrette, and brother-in-law, Ronald S. Jewell.

After graduating from Arthur Hill High School in 1959, John earned his Bachelor's of Science Degree in Business from Ferris State University in 1964. He worked at Wickes Corporation in Saginaw at different divisions with most of his years at Wickes Lumber for more than 29 years. He was the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at the time of his retirement. John was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church – Brockway Rd where he served as Trustee for many years.

A memorial service for John is being planned for a later time and will be announced by the Wakeman Funeral Home, Inc. 1218 N. Michigan Ave., Saginaw.
