John Irving Morley

John Irving Morley, 95, of Ocala, Florida, passed peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, November 19,2025. He was born in Tonawanda, New York to Mildred Morley and adopted by Myron Morley. On January 17, 1959 he married his best friend Carolyn Jean Morley. Together they raised three sons and one daughter. Pre deceased by his parents and his wife Carolyn, John is survived by his brother Richard; Son Jeff and companion Melanie of Ocala, Florida; Son Greg and companion Kelly of Leonardo, New Jersey; Son Brad and Daughter-In-Law Karen of DeBary, Florida; Daughter Cheryl (Pontious) and Son-In-Law Rob of Ormond Beach, Florida; Grandchildren: Broderick; Spencer and Granddaughter-In-Law Erin; Parker and Granddaughter-In-Law Brittney; Garrett; Jordan and Granddaughter-In-Law Alli; Megan; Matthew; Tanner; Rachael; Kaylee and 8 Great-Grandchildren.

John was known for his hard work ethic, love of his family and striking up a debate with any of his grandchildren that were willing. He spent his early years in the Navy where he found his love for sports. After, he joined the Defense System in New York where he would meet and marry the love of his life. In his 39 years, his job would take him to Denver, Kennedy Space Center, and Martin Marietta before retiring with Lockheed Martin in Ocala. John and his family were sports enthusiasts, where he was always one of the coaches and Carolyn was the team mom. He loved nothing more than watching his children and grandchildren play the sports they were passionate about. He was always doing his best to attend and cheer them on. No destination was ever too far to spectate from. He also had a great love for Lou Holtz and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish Football Team.

After his retirement, John and Carolyn became active travelers. Some of their favorite places were St. Kitts, Biloxi, and the UF Softball Stadium. John's smile and witty jokes will be deeply missed, but the memories will live on forever. Now that his body is whole again, he can reunite with his beautiful bride and family.
