John Ashley Morris departed this Earth on October 20, 2023, at the age of 60. He was preceded in death by the love of his life Brenda Morris and his parents Olen Morris and Betty Laycook.
John had a love for martial arts, the outdoors and movies. He worked as a carpet installer and truck driver most of his life. John was a great man. He was a big kid at heart with a contagious laugh. He was always willing to go the extra mile for his family and friends.
John is survived by his wife Amanda Morris, three daughters, Ashley (Jessie) Stickney, Amber Hawkins, Amanda Hawkins, two sons Justin Morris, and Joshua (Rachel) Hawkins of Michigan. He is also survived by three brothers Steve Montoya and Tony Montoya of Missouri, Rick (Ellen) Montoya of Michigan, two sisters Sandra Leftridge and Juanita (Mark) Gordon both of Missouri. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and a host of nieces and nephews.
Services for John will be on November 7th, 10:00am at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main Street, NLR, AR 72114
Per John’s wishes he will be cremated. The family will have a small viewing of his ashes prior to the service. The viewing of his ashes will start at 9am.
