John D. Morse III, 80

Falmouth - John Davidson Morse III passed away at the JML Care Center in Falmouth, Mass on March 31, 2023 at the age of 80 surrounded by his loving family.

Before graduating from Swampscott High School in 1962, he took time off to accompany his father on a job for GE in Cuba. Shortly thereafter Castro's army took over and all US citizens were to return to the states. On the bus trip to the airport, the bus was stopped by soldiers and an attempt was made to take the young men on board to fight for Castro. The attempt failed based on documentation but was an experience he never forgot. John served in the US Army for 3 years. On leave before being sent to South Korea, he married his sweetheart, Irene Kokinos, at his parents' home in Ardsley, New York.

After being honorably discharged in 1968, he joined his wife in Florida and entered Tampa University. Later they returned to the North Shore and purchased a home in Lynn where his wife continued teaching. He returned to the retail business working for Ames Department Store, Kitchen's Etc. and retired from Bed, Bath and Beyond in 2016. Working on cars in his free time was a challenge he enjoyed.

He leaves his son John Daniel of Florida, his sister Suzanne of Falmouth, his twin brothers Donald of Plymouth and David of Swampscott and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, John D Morse Jr and Maryon R Morse, his wife Irene (Kokinos) Morse and his brother Robert K Morse.

Service Information: A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at 12:00PM in the Solimine Funeral Home 67 Ocean St. Lynn, followed by burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
