John Edward Mosley passed into the arm of Jesus on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at Harbour Hospice in Houston, Texas, from complications of Lung Cancer.  He was 69 years old. The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday, December 27th from 10:00 a.m. until the 12:00 p.m. service at John’s Landing, 1215 Carsley Road, Jackson, Mississippi 39209. He will be laid to rest following the service in Carsley Family Cemetery.

John was born November 16, 1953, to the late George Henry Sr. and Maudie Mosley in Jackson, MS where he lived his entire life. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many. John was the owner and operator of Clinton Body Shop for 43 years. He also owned Hanger 360 Aircraft Services and John’s 360 Coatings. He was on the board of Society Collision Repair Specialists, one of the founding members of the MS Collision Repair Association and was a Consumer Advocate for the Automotive Repair Industry.

John was a graduate of Crystal Springs High School, class of 1971. He has been married to the love of his life, Carolyn, for 48 years. He was a member of Pocahontas Baptist Church. He was an entrepreneur, supporter of veterans, and had a deep love for aviation and plane restoration.  Most of all, he was a true servant. He was the most hard working, generous, selfless, kind, and trustworthy person you would ever have the pleasure to meet. To know him was to love him. He touched the lives of so many and was always ready to fight for what was right.  He was one of a kind; and one couldn’t help but admire his focus, energy and drive. “Blue skies and tailwinds”

Along with his parents, John is also preceded in death by his twin brothers, Gerry and Jerry Mosley and brother, George Mosley, Jr. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Carolyn Mosley of Jackson; daughter, Patty (Ben) Pettis of Jackson; son, Daniel Mosley of Jackson; grandsons, Scott and Patrick Pettis and Alex and Peyton Mosley; brothers, Terrell Mosley of Clinton, and Steve (Sue) Mosley of Terry; sister, Sherrell (Scott) Lewis of Clinton; aunt, Lucille Boatner of Harrisville; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that he considered family.

Memorials can be made to Warrior Bonfire Program in Vicksburg, MS; Southern Heritage Air Foundation; or Shriners Hospital.

John was a fine man and a person that stood tall for doing right by his friends and customers. His passing came as a shock to our little group but we will have a toast to him and wish him clear skies and tailwinds all the way to Heaven. I hate that I couldn't attend his services but I had to keep isolated for a few more days.

John Mosley was a remarkable person. Talented, down to earth, caring, and personified the saying: It´s nice to be important, but more important to be nice. John was also passionate in his beliefs and fought for them! Truly an outstanding man.
