John Nadolski, 90, of
Old Bridge, New Jersey passed away surrounded by his loving family on November 25, 2025.
Born Monday, July 1, 1935 in Jersey City, NJ to parents Joseph and Mary Nadolski, John lived a life rich with love, laughter, and dedication to family.
John was raised in Jersey City, where he graduated from St. Michael's High School, proudly playing on the basketball team. Following high school, he proudly served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Alaska, where he cultivated a steadfast discipline and the enduring camaraderie he carried throughout his life. John was honorably discharged, marking the beginning of a fulfilling life ahead.
In 1970, John married the love of his life, Dorothy, and they began a beautiful journey together that spanned 55 wonderful years. The couple settled in Bayonne, New Jersey, where they created a loving home and raised two beautiful daughters, Cheryl and Anne Marie. John was a devoted family man, and he took immense joy in being a father.
Professionally, John dedicated over 20 years of his life to ICI Americas in Bayonne, where he served as a warehouse supervisor before retiring. Earlier in his career, he worked at the American Can Company in Jersey City. He balanced work with his passions, which included a deep love for basketball. Whether playing, coaching, or watching games, basketball was a central part of his life; he found happiness in sharing this passion with his family and friends.
John was also known for his sweet tooth, particularly his love for Hershey's chocolate, and he enjoyed many trips to Atlantic City, creating lasting memories with his loved ones.
A devoted parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Bayonne, John contributed to his community as an usher, basketball coach, and athletic supervisor, demonstrating his commitment to service and fellowship.
Above all, John loved spending time with his family, especially his cherished grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Ever youthful at heart, he was often seen at family gatherings playing with the children, his laughter bringing warmth to all. John will be missed by all those lucky enough to have known him.
John is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years Dorothy, by his loving daughters Cheryl Barnhardt and her husband Ralph and Anne Marie Flora and her husband Arthur, by his cherished grandchildren Emily, Ralph, and Joseph, by his caring sister Mary Flora, and by many adoring nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 30, 2025 from 2:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals located at 3377 US Highway 9,
Old Bridge, NJ 08857.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, December 1, 2025 at St. Ambrose Church in
Old Bridge, NJ.
