John "Jack" Daniel Nagle, 77, of Tabernacle, NJ, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2025, at Cooper University Medical Center in Camden, NJ.
Born in Newark, NJ, Jack resided in Toms River, NJ for 35 years before moving to Tabernacle, NJ four years ago. He attended Ocean County College graduating with a Associates Degree in Criminal Justice. He also attended Trenton State College graduating with a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice. In January 1972 he was the third Police Officer hired for the Howell Township Police Department. In 1978 he was promoted and assigned to the Detective Bureau. He also was involved with the Howell OEM – Underwater Search/Rescue Unit. He also achieved the Police Officer of the Year Award in 1990. He retired from Howell Police Department after 26 years of service. He also worked at the Toms River Regional School District Security Department for 20 years. Jack also served 25 years in the Army Reserves with the 11th Special Forces Group (Airborne) Company C, Green Berets, in Ft. Dix, NJ. He Retired as a Sergeant First Class completing many schools and courses throughout his career including: US Army Airborne School in FT. Benning Georgia: US Army Special Forces Qualifications Courses, Phase I, Phase II & Phase III: Danish Parachute School in Alborg, Denmark: Norwegian Winter Warfare/Advanced Ski school in Dombas, Norway. He also obtained Overseas Ribbons from the United Kingdom, Germany, Norway & Denmark. Jack's hobbies included snow skiing, SCUBA diving with Ocean Wreck Divers of Toms River, and his main hobbies were home projects and improvements, yard and garden and time with family.
Jack is survived by his wife Diane of 49 years, daughter Lesley of Bath, Pa, son Erik and wife Ashton of Tuckerton, NJ, son Kevin of Tabernacle, NJ. Grandson Brian of Shaw AFB, SC, Granddaughter Madison of Tuckerton, NJ and Sister Joanne Nagle of Oklahoma. Also survived by four nephews and one niece. He is predeceased by his parents John and Irene, his brother Robert and twin sister Barbara.
Graveside services will be on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at 1PM, at the Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ.

Dear Diane,
I am so sorry to hear about Jack. As you know we worked with each other
for 20 years. I have alot of wonderful memories of Jack and he always
had my back. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather .
My deepest condolences to you and your entire family, I know he will
