Humiston Funeral HomeJohn P. Neidhardt III of Accord, New York, died suddenly at his home on November 10, 2025. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Bonnie (nee Brown); his two sons John (Kat), and Andrew (Caryn); his three beloved granddaughters Loretta, Helen, and Ruth; and his siblings Brian, Donna, Tommy, and Mary. He was predeceased by his parents, John Neidhardt, Jr., and Rita Neidhardt (nee Hux) of Lodi, New Jersey.
Born in 1955 in Teaneck, New Jersey, John was raised in Lodi where he attended Lodi High School and later Plaza School before beginning his career as an electrician, facilities engineer and entrepreneur. He pioneered many electrical engineering and plant engineering technologies when they were in their infancy. In retirement, John continued to use his repair skills working at Skate Time 209 and was a devoted volunteer for Friends of Historic Rochester. He was incredibly fond of restoring antique radios and bringing old electronics back to life.
He will be remembered as someone who was always willing to help anyone, especially if it involved fixing something and even more-so if could instill that knowledge onto others. Always a cheerful person, he was happiest when he could tangibly help those he loved. He loved rock n’ roll and remembering every concert he attended. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and being outdoors, whether visiting with his parents, fishing or catching reptiles, reminiscing with siblings, or taking his granddaughters for new adventures.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday November 16, 2025, at Humiston Funeral home at 30 42nd Street, Kerhonkson, New York.
To honor John’s memory, the family requests that donations be made to Friends of Historic Rochester at P.O. Box 229 Accord, NY 12404.
