John H. Newcomer

John H. Newcomer, age 86, of Hockessin, DE, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 9, 2024.
John was born in Lancaster, PA, son of the late John K. and Ruth (Shenk) Newcomer and was a graduate of Lititz High School and Albright College. In 1965, shortly after graduation, John founded National Income Tax Service, his tax consulting business that is still operating today. A longtime member of the Kirkwood/Christiana Rotary Club, he was proud of his 50 years of perfect attendance. He was also a University of Delaware Football season ticket holder for over 50 years. A lifelong car enthusiast, John loved spending time at his second home in Marco Island, FL, where he was also an avid golfer and boater. He was a longtime member of St. Philip's Lutheran Church, and above all else, a dedicated family man. He will be dearly missed.
John is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Jane (Yeager) Newcomer; his children, John, Jr (Jodi), and Teri Lynn Suddard (Vince); his "adopted" children, Don and Judi Newman; his 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at The Summit Memory Care Unit, where John resided the last year of his life due to failing health.
A memorial service will be celebrated at 11:00am on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at St. Philip's Lutheran Church, 5320 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE 19808, where family and friends may visit beginning at 10:00am. Interment will be held privately.
