John D Pannek

Mass of Christian Burial will be 1PM on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 at St. Augustine's Catholic Church in St. Cloud for John D. Pannek, 90 of St. Cloud who died Friday, October 3, 2025 at Ecuman St. Benedict's Community in St. Cloud. Rev. Tom Friedl will officiate and burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Sauk Rapids. Visitation will be from 4-7PM on Tuesday at the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Sauk Rapids and 1 hour prior to services Wednesday at the church in St. Cloud.

John was born December 23, 1934 in St. Anna to Wenzel & Mary (Kostreba) Pannek. He grew up in St. Anna and lived in Melrose, Sauk Centre and St. Cloud. He married Karen Anderson on May 2, 1987 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in St. Cloud. John farmed and worked on Power Line Construction. He is a member of the Moose Lodge #1400 in Waite Park. He enjoyed spending time fishing, hunting, gardening, canning and Saturday night poker.

He is survived by his children, Marie (Michael) Justin of St. Cloud; JoAnn (Jeff) Edinger of Temple, TX; John Jr. of St. Cloud; step son, Darin Nylund of Foley; grandchildren, Rebecca, Matthew, Logan, Christian and Kelie. He is also survived by his siblings, Leona (Francis) Belletti, Luverne (Dick) Schultz, Susie (Claude) Opatz, Andy (Maryann) Panek and Jeanette Kierzck.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Karen, stepsons, Devin Nylund, Del Nylund and siblings, Betty Ebnet, Mary Schroeder, Anne Valerius, Ambrose Panek, Irene Kociemba and Rose Schultz.
