John spent his early years in Ruth, Nevada with his parents George and Anna and his sister Barbara. John loved growing up in a small town where he had many adventures with his lifelong friends. After graduating from White Pine High School in 1969. John attended Westminster College where he completed his Bachelor's degree in Education. Later, John went on to receive a Masters in Education at the University of Utah.

John taught for Jordan School District for thirty years at Butler and Crescent Elementary. He was a wonderful role model for both students and coworkers, teaching fourth grade and serving as computer specialist. In the years following retirement John worked for Western Governors University as an online evaluator for their teaching program.

John Married his sweetheart Valerie on Oct 18, 2014 at the Cottonwood Country Club. Together They enjoyed many years of travel, concerts, plays, gymnastics and college football (Go Utes!) He loved Corvettes Harley Davidson motorcycles, fishing, camping and golf. John was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather (Papou) who loved nothing more than spending time with his family.

John was very passionate about cooking traditional Greek food such as lamb, souvlaki, pastichio and baklava. John was also a one man Geek Squad, troubleshooting technical issues people were having with their phones and laptops.

John had a passion for life that cannot be described in words alone and he will be greatly missed by everyone who had the good fortune of knowing him. John is survived by his loving wife, Valerie. Daughter Katie (David) Manninen, Sons Aaron (Whitney) Hunsaker, Matt (Amber) Hunsaker, Christopher Cox and grandchildren Noah, Avenlee, Vanna and Ellie. Sister; Barbara (Larry) Georgopoulos, niece Alexandra (Thomas) Cayias, nephew Elias (Elyse) and Olympia Georgopoulos, 14 beloved brothers/sisters in law and all of their children

Visitation Wednesday, Feb 25th 6-8 pm at Neil O'Donnell Mortuary

Funeral mass Thursday Feb 26th 11AM
