Sandy, UT-Ethel Olson, 87, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2026, in Sandy, Utah.
Born on April 19, 1938, in Jonesboro, Arkansas, Ethel's life was marked by compassion, dedication, and a deep commitment to both her family and her profession. She pursued higher education with determination, earning a Bachelor's degree in Nursing from Westminster College and later achieving her Master's degree from the University of Utah.
Ethel devoted her career to serving others as a nurse at the VA Hospital, where she specialized in diabetes treatment. Her work touched the lives of many veterans and their families. Known for her skill and empathy, she formed lasting bonds with numerous patients who deeply appreciated her care.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Ethel found great joy in her personal life. She was the proud mother of four children: Douglas Olson, Victoria Olson, Kurtis Olson, and Geoffrey Olson. Her legacy continues through her four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Ethel had a passion for sewing and delighted in knitting and crocheting intricate pieces for those around her. She also cherished time spent playing Bridge with friends-a pastime that brought laughter and camaraderie into her life.
Friends and family will honor Ethel's life in a private celebration.
May her memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.
