John Pedigo Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Jessen Funeral Home & Simple Cremation - Whiteland on Jan. 16, 2026.
John Lloyd Pedigo, 81, of Indianapolis, passed away Thursday, December 11, 2025. He was born February 1, 1944, to the late Robert Pedigo and Helen (Wood) Pedigo. After serving in the United States Army, John entered the Skilled Trade with Sheet Metal Workers Union, and after retiring, he started his own lawn mowing business. John's forthright approach overcame all daily challenges.

John enjoyed spending his days on the front porch and his nights by the warmth of the fireplace with his loving wife Olanna. There was never a time that his kitchen table didn't have a puzzle in progress along with his favorite things: a Diet Coke, Oreos, and Dove Chocolates. He will be forever known by his neighbors as the "Mayor of Catherwood Avenue" and for always maintaining a perfect lawn. John spent a lot of time at the golf course over the years with several hole in ones achieved. If you knew John, you knew that he made daily trips to Speedway gas station to get his stack of lottery tickets. While these memories can give you a glimpse into the life he lived, words cannot fully express how great of a man he was. He will always be cherished by those who knew him.

John is survived his loving wife of 57 years, Olanna; children Brian (Sookie) Kring and Christie Phegley; son-in-law Lance Taylor; brother Tim (Pam) Pedigo; sister-in-law Jolene (Bill) Boruff; nieces Shelley Pedigo Gindling and Melissa (Michael) Woodson; grandchildren Zachary (Kelsey) Pedigo, Cody (Evie) Burton, Emily (Kyle) Cross, Skylar (boyfriend Kavin Shinn) Perry, Lanna Pedigo, Brandon (Cayla) Kring, Jackie (Emma) Halpern, and Caroline Goodwin; and many great grandchildren.

Along with his parents, John is preceded in death by his daughter Natalie Taylor; and mother-in-law and father-law- Olan and Chloe Collins. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
