John F. "J.R." Pepple III, 49, of Vandalia, IL, passed away Sunday, November 10, 2024 at his home.

John Francis Pepple III was born on April 25, 1975 in Belleville, IL, the son of John Francis Pepple II and Donna Lynn (Swofford). J.R. was a union welder and member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters UA Local 149 in Decatur. J.R was a phenomenal welder and athlete. He had an adventurous personality and many passions in life; he loved to golf, scuba dive, and was currently pursuing his pilot's license.
He will forever be remembered by his mother and stepfather, Donna and husband Scott Wright of Vandalia; daughter, Madison Brown of Effingham; sister, Kiley and husband Andy Whitten of El Dorado, AR; step-grandparents, Herb and Shirley Wright of Vandalia; nieces and nephew, Lauren, Logan, Mallory, Katie, and Lucy; aunts, Carolyn Anderson, Mary Frances Enloe, Suzanne Aanderud, and Patricia McNeece; and countless cousins, extended family & friends.
He was preceded in death by his father; paternal grandparents, Jack and Elva Pepple; maternal grandparents, Don and Charlotte Swofford; and an aunt, Jan Rosborough.
