Mr. John Arnold Pesonen was 57 years old and lived in Hillman, Michigan. On February 22, 2024, our lives were forever changed when we got the news that he left this world so soon. He lived all over Michigan and lived in Florida at one point for a while.
On October 21, 1966, the world and this family was blessed with an amazing man who was full of soul, empathy, compassion, understanding, and love. He was born in Southfield, Michigan, to the late Paul and Jean (Tauriainen) Pesonen. He has resided in Hillman since 1974, touching the hearts and lives in our community and those he crossed paths with. His family grew into an entire community of people far and wide.
He was an adventurous man who loved to explore and dreamt of one day being able to travel to see all the beauty this world has to offer. He was very active and involved in his children's/ grandchildren's lives by supporting all of the sports they were in, activities, goals, dreams, and accomplishments. He taught them how to snowboard, dirt board, ride bikes, camp, fish, help and care for animals, explore nature and new places, and to never be afraid to brave the next adventure. He was a family man with a heart of gold who enjoyed family nights where all of his loved ones gathered for movies, games, dinner, and meaningful conversations. With his sense of humor, quick wit, and goofy personality there was never a dull moment. His teachings, heart, and memory will live on for generations to come.
John was incredibly intelligent and accomplished whatever he set his mind to. He built PC's, designed websites, created original logo designs, owned and ran a printing business, repaired a plethora of things to help others, and even designed the wildlife logos displayed on the light posts in our very own community. He is and will forever be missed by all who knew and loved him.
John is survived by his loving wife Kimberly Pesonen of Hillman; children, Christian Jeria (Daniel) Keller of Westland; Lea Shailey (Jacob Taulbee) Pesonen of Alpena; Adrian Jordan Pesonen, Cole Anthony Kronholm (Pesonen) both of Hillman; Grandchildren, Shailey, Layton, and Risette; Brother, Kenneth (Michael) Pesonen of Grand Rapids; and special relatives Debbie and Jaden and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Jean Pesonen, grandparents John and Olga Tauriainen, all of Hillman.
In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. The family has chosen to remember John privately at this time. There will be a celebration of his life at a later date.
