John Peters Obituary

Published by Legacy on Aug. 26, 2025.
Peters Jr., John Napoleon Township, Michigan John Frederick Peters Jr., 77, passed away at his home, August 25, 2025. John was born on October 25, 1947, in New Rochelle, New York to John F. and Caroline (Schultz) Peters. After graduation, he proudly served in the United States Army . Most of John's career was in the construction field. John met the love of his life, Diane online, and on July 18, 2002 they married and moved to the UP. Shortly after marrying, they moved to Florida for nearly 18 years. Wanting to be back near family, they made another move back to Michigan. John and Diane enjoyed 21 and a half years together until her passing. He was an avid hockey fan, especially for the Detroit Red Wings, which he had the opportunity to try out for. He was an adventurous camper, explorer and traveler, even on his scooter. He truly lived a retired life, doing whatever he wanted and whenever he wanted. John will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather. Being an only child, John truly treasured being a big part of his family and spending time with them, especially his granddaughters. John will be missed by his children, John F. Peters III, Carolyn Peters, Benjamin W. (Amy) Eberly, Donna (Lee) Eberly - Paquette and Gerald M. (Stacia) Eberly; grandchildren, Kyle, Damien, Zach, Marshall, Trent, Paige, Hannah and 3 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, John Sr. and Caroline and his wife Diane.
