John Pillen Obituary
John's greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his loving daughter, Taylor Betts, and his son, Ryan Townsend.
John's love for his home-state teams, the Michigan Wolverines and the Detroit Lions, was well known to all who knew him. Whether watching a game or talking sports, his enthusiasm was contagious. Even more memorable was his generous spirit, John was the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back without hesitation.
As we say goodbye to John Matthew Pillen, we celebrate a life lived. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who have had the pleasure of knowing him.
Arrangements have been entrusted to The Cremation Society of Indiana, 4115 Shelby Street. Please leave a message or share a memory.

I will forever remember all the love you shown me all throughout my life. You were my protector for the first half, my confidant through the second. You were the only one that checked up on me on a regular basis.... i love and miss you already unc i cant wait to see you again

Rest easy bro, friends since little kids and I got him a job when we were 18 worked with me and my dad at K&M Engineering for 6 years so we were pretty tight.lots of good memories and attended school together since kindergarten and we talked alot recently .He will be missed rest easy bud see ya at some point.

I have known John since Kindergarten. We both had older parents and were the baby if our families. He was always so sweet. We had reconnected on FB a while back and I am just sick that this has happened. Keeping his family and close friends in my prayers.

John was one of the funniest people I have ever met! He was so quick witted that I was always cracking up whenever he was around. Ryan and I were so sorry to hear of his passing and are praying for all of the Pillens dealing with this heartbreaking loss.
