Born on January 18, 1947, in Cleveland, Ohio, he graduated from West Geauga High School in 1964 and served in the U.S. Navy for seven years, completing training at the Nuclear Power School, later stationed in Groton, CT. In 1972, he married Catherine (Shea), his beloved wife of 52 years.
Following his military service, John worked for Boston Edison. He and Catherine moved to Plymouth, MA, where they lived before returning to Connecticut, settling in Canterbury in 1987.
A dedicated entrepreneur, he owned and operated The New England Pine & American Home Company from 1982 to 2002, later spending over 20 years in real estate, most recently with Compass Realty in Norwich, CT.
John's greatest joy was his family, along with his beloved cat, Bella, and loyal dog, Bailey. He treasured Sunday dinners and time with loved ones. A passionate sports fan, he avidly followed The Ohio State Buckeyes and Boston sports teams. He was also an early adopter of Apple products and devoted fan of the brand and its innovations.
