John Ploshay Obituary

John Peter Ploshay, Sr., peacefully entered Heaven on January 18, 2022 and was reunited with his wife of 56 years, Nancy Carole Ploshay, and his granddaughter, Amanda Paige Ragan. John was born to John Ploshay and Edith Malpass in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. John married his sweetheart, Nancy, in 1963. He was a skilled mechanic and machinist. He is survived by his brother, Thomas Ploshay, wife Jeanne, and nephew Cary Ploshay. John and Nancy had four children together; Christina Hafer, wife of David Peterson of Leesport; John (“Butch”) Ploshay, Jr., husband of Janel of Pottstown; Michael Ploshay, husband of Leann of Arab, Alabama; and Heidi Ragan, wife of James Ragan of Largo, Florida. John was known as “Grandpop” by his 10 grandchildren; Nicole Manley, Esq., Diane Ragan, Carole Hartberger, Patrick Ploshay, Kristin Ploshay, Shannon (Ploshay) Fisicaro, Brandon Ploshay, Devon Ploshay, and James Ragan, Jr. John was also “Great Grandpop” to 15 great-grandchildren. John was a proud man with a deep, booming voice that could intimidate even the strongest of men. John enjoyed riding motorcycles, collecting antiques, travel, and classic cars. John was known by his family and friends as a gifted conversationalist. He will be dearly missed. In lieu of flowers, please contribute to the Mission Kids Child Advocacy Center of Montgomery County.
