John was my colleague at Bishop Hendricken HS for several years. But I first met him many years ago, at the State Math Counts competition. John was a true professional, he was a great teacher and a better person. We had many converstations concerning our profession and it was a pleasure to have had the opportunity work with John.. His legacy of helping and caring for his students will live on in the hearts of his students from BHHS...my Prayers to his family and friends...Bob Fuoroli

Both of my children had Mr. Plummer at Cole Jr High and loved him. He was a wonderful teacher and wanted to make sure the kids learned and to this day my daughter is so impressed bcuz Mr Plummer could write on the board with his left and right hand at the same time and that was back in `91.
My thoughts and prayers are with his family as he was a very special man.

A mentor at East Greenwich Junior High who became a friend as the years passed by ... Mr. Plummer, you positively influenced the lives of many young people while challenging our minds mathematically and intellectually. Your ability to find the talents and the good within each of us was an art you mastered. I can say with confidence that you left this world a better place than you found it. Rest peacefully and with pride in the life you lived.

I remember your husband/dad so fondly. He was my math teacher in junior high (East Greenwich). EVERYONE LOVED HIM! I am 57 years old now, so this is going back many years. I wanted to let you know what a wonderful teacher he was, touching so many lives. I teach middle school now myself, so I can appreciate what he did with his students even more! I hope your many memories give you peace at this difficult time.

Ahh ... Mr. Plummer. You were my math teacher at Moses Brown back in 1974. I remember your physical presence that loudly spoke "You had better finish your homework!" Your command of the classroom came naturally, and we all respected your ability to teach us things that we didn't know, but would certainly use in our lives ahead. You ranked high in my personal hierarchy of best teachers. I know you will find peace now.
To your family - We hope that your pleasant memories provide comfort in the days ahead.

I taught with John at East Greenwich Junior High. I coached the cross country team there, and John filled in for me once when I was unable to attend a meet. I remember him jogging after school. He was such a nice guy, and his students loved him.
