RICHMOND, Ind. – John David Polver, age 70, of Richmond, Indiana, died Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Community South Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana surrounded by family.
Born December 16, 1954, in Richmond, Indiana, to Samuel and Virginia Jenkins Polver Jr., John was a life-long resident of Richmond. He was a graduate of Richmond High School, and Indiana University Bloomington, earning a bachelor's in history. John worked in retail most of his life, retiring from JC Penney after 30 years as a Department Manager. He was an avid fan and collector of comic books, searching for them at garage sales, antique shops, and everywhere the family went on their travels.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Marie Mopps Polver, to whom he was married on June 25, 1988; two sons, Andrew (Miranda) Polver and Collin Polver; granddaughter, Oracle Polver; grandson, Damian Polver; brothers, Mark (Sandy) Polver and Michael (Jennifer) Polver; nieces; and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Virginia Turner and Samuel Polver Jr.
At this time, there are no services for John David Polver. His family will have a private service at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Dementia Society of America, 188 North Main Street, Doylestown, PA 18901.
