John F. Ponte

John Ponte, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, was born and raised in the Azores. His love for his family, particularly for his wife Maria Adelaide, led him on an incredible journey to America, where he sought a better life for his children. Along with his three children, John immigrated to the United States, determined to provide them with the opportunities that would shape their futures.
After settling in Cambridge, MA, John worked at Lechmere, before retiring and relocating to Malden, MA, on Monroe Street. It was here that John and his family built a lifetime of cherished memories. From welcoming his beautiful grandchildren into the world to hosting lively pool parties and holiday gatherings, his home became a place of joy, laughter, and love.
John was a man of deep faith, and he and his wife never missed a Sunday at church, where they both found strength and community. After losing his beloved wife Maria Adelaide seven years ago, John devoted his time to grieving, never truly healing from the loss of the love of his life.
Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy of love, dedication, and faith will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. It was simply his time to go, but his spirit remains with us forever.
Loving father of Louis Ponte and his wife Lucia, Anna DeWart and her husband Bernie, Paula Aguiar and her husband Edward. Cherished grandfather of Adam Morell, Nicole and Andrew DeWart, Spencer Aguiar, Christian, Sarah and Sophia Ponte. Beloved husband of the late Maria Adelaide Ponte, and brother of the late Carlos and Flavio Ponte. Also survived by nieces, nephews, many other loving relatives and friends.

SERVICE INFORMATION
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours in the Bisbee-Porcella Funeral Home, 549 Lincoln Ave., SAUGUS on Thursday from 4 – 7 p.m. A funeral will be held from the funeral home on Friday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in Blessed Sacrament, 14 Summer St., Saugus at 10:30 a.m. Interment in Riverside Cemetery in Saugus.
