John Possehl, 84, of Brooksville, FL died on Thursday, June 5, 2025. John was born in upstate NY and grew up skiing in the mountains and fishing in the lakes nearby. John married Cheryl (Bailleu) on October 21, 1990 and over the years together they lived in Largo, FL, Wilmington, NC, and Mooresburg, TN before settling in Brooksville. He owned and operated a meat market for many years. After selling the store, he did a variety of different things until joining with Cheryl to grow a wholesale arts and crafts business. John loved music and spent many happy years singing with barbershop quartets and in church choirs. A man who enjoyed nothing more than finding a piece of machinery and fixing it up, John was an excellent mechanic who tinkered with a succession of tractors. Given the choice, John would have rather been out on the water fishing than almost anything else. His quiet humor and warm heart will be missed greatly by his wife and the many people who loved him.
