Rudy Possehl Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by White Funeral Home - Lakeville on Mar. 12, 2025.
Rudy W. Possehl Jr., age 80, of Edina, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on March 12, 2025. Preceded in death by his brothers: William, Rollin, and Floyd. Survived by his wife of 55 years, Donna; children: Matthew (Pam) and Melissa (Jon) Vinovich; grandchildren: Natalie, Landon, Nikolas, Christopher, and Claire; sisters-in-law: Elaine, Amber, and Janice; also by other loving family and friends.
Rudy's joy for life, commitment to work, and love of family leave a true legacy behind. Born the youngest of 4 boys at home on the family farm in Iowa, he attended a one room schoolhouse in Elkader, Iowa. While Elkader always remained home in his heart, he had the itch to explore and learn. With the support of Uncle Oscar, and Carl and Marlis, he went on to study Accounting at Mankato College (now Minnesota State University, Mankato). After college Rudy spent over 30 years working for Modine Manufacturing. Traveling the world, negotiating deals and mentoring many, Rudy retired as VP of Administration in 2004.
Early on, work brought Rudy to Racine, WI where he met the love of his life, Donna. Their 55-year marriage brought 2 children and took them through 6 states. His favorite locations were their Rhinelander lake house, and their home in Arizona where golf and sunshine filled his days. His love and commitment to Donna and their family was admired by all.
Family was everything to Rudy. He retired the year his 1st grandchild was born, which gave him his favorite role of all-Grandpa, or Papa Golf Cart as his youngest grandson calls him. Rudy never missed a family event or an opportunity to attend a performance or sporting event. His children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews always felt his love.
Memorial service, 11am Monday, April 14, 2025, at White Funeral Home (20134 Kenwood Tr) Lakeville.
