John Pranno Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cooney Funeral Home - Park Ridge on Oct. 6, 2025.

Publish in a newspaper

John Joseph Pranno, at age 81, peacefully passed away on September 14, 2025. John was the husband of Suzanne Scott, father of the late Katherine Pranno and Michael (Rachel) Pranno, grandfather of Agostino and Marco Pranno, brother of Albert (Mary Ann), Arthur (Melanie), Faith Mary, and Michele (Charles Donkle) Pranno, and uncle of Albert and Anthony (Katheryn) Pranno.

In his younger years, he regularly enjoyed tennis, skiing, and boating - and loved to entertain his friends and family with big, joyful parties - where he was well-known for his infamous dad-jokes. He was a successful and proud salesman and business owner in the field of office equipment leasing, and a devoted Cubs/Bulls/Bears/Blackhawks fan. After his retirement, he was an avid reader - spending almost every day in the library - and planned/loved visits from his grandchildren. We will all miss him deeply and are happy that he is no longer suffering and at peace with God.

A memorial will be held on Saturday October 11 from 1-4 pm at Cooney Funeral Home at 625 Busse Hwy in Park Ridge.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made "In memory of John Pranno" at the Zero Prostate Cancer Center online at zerocancer.org, or via mail at 201 N Union St, Mailbox 110, Alexandria, VA 22314
