John Edward Preston, 81, passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at his home in Stanford, Kentucky. He was born in Lexington, Kentucky, on December 16, 1943, to the late Bill Edward Preston and Ethel Lorraine Clouse. John was a retired over-the-road truck driver. He is survived by his son, John Daniel Preston (Cynthia Magalene); daughter, Dedra Brumfield (Tim); sister, Ruby Puckett; grandchildren, Jonathan Kyle Preston, Regina Eversole, Heather Corman, and Meagan Brumfield; great-grandchildren, Jordin Hickman, Blake Hickman, Brayden Burger, and Kamden Burger; nephews, Buddy Puckett and Mike Puckett; and niece, Sharon Belcher. Services will be held at 6:00 PM, Tuesday, March 11, at Pentecostal Church of Jesus Christ (621 Wilderness Road, Lexington, KY), with Pastor Buddy Puckett officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until the time of service, Tuesday, at the church. Betts & West is honored to serve John and his family in their time of need.
