John Pritsch Obituary
John Thomas Pritsch, age 84, of Greenfield, passed away Sunday, October 12, 2025, at Hancock Regional Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Lebanon, Indiana, on January 18, 1941, to Carl and Alwilda (Stephens) Pritsch. He married Sharon A. (Fowley) on November 9, 1985, in New Palestine, Indiana.
John worked for Thompson Consumer Electronics, formerly RCA, as a Draftsman for over thirty years. After retirement, he owned and worked for himself at John Pritsch Tax Service. He was a member of Park Chapel Christian Church, where he served as an usher and teacher for the MOPS group. John was the founder of the monthly newsletter at the church and published them monthly. He volunteered to drive a bus for the First Baptist Church in Beech Grove, Indiana, by going door to door with his son, Andrew, to invite and take children to church that otherwise would not get to go. In John's younger years, he participated in the broad and long jump in track, along with basketball. In his free time, John enjoyed golfing, fishing, bowling, watching IU Basketball & Football, Colts, Pacers Basketball, and Indiana Fever Basketball. He loved walking his dog, Jack.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Pritsch; children, Ted J. Pritsch, Andrew T. Pritsch, Amy J. (Paul) Miller, Sally A. Pritsch, Stacy S. Sparks, and Joel A. (Kara) Pritsch; stepchildren, Kevin M. (Jen Aton) Speas and Lisa A. Speas; grandchildren, Kendall (Santiago) Toral Pritsch, Wayman "Sonny" (Bridget) Snell IV, Taylor (Zach) Johnson, Jessica (Cordell) Jones, Joshua (Erica) Carmen, Nolan and Oliver Pritsch, Alexa Poveromo, Oscar and Oliver Reynolds; step-grandchildren, Aaron (Amara) Speas, Ryan Speas, Amy Jo (Corey Smith) Parrish, Ross Bennett, Kelsey and Christian Jones, Christina (Evan) Fishback, Jessica (Jon) Knapp, Katherine Miller, and Sarah (Garrett) Schrum; and sixteen great grandchildren, and one on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Joy E. Reynolds; brothers, infant Carl Jr. Pritsch and Markus Pritsch; and sister-in-law, Florence Pritsch.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Park Chapel Christian Church, 1176 East McKenzie Road, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will immediately follow the visitation at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Dave Barnett and Dave Woods will be officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made by mail to the Park Chapel Christian Church, 1176 East McKenzie Road, Greenfield, IN 46140. Envelopes will be available at the church.
