John "Jack" Prodoehl, of Deerbrook, died on May 25, 2025 at Evergreen Terrace under the care of his family and LeRoyer Hospice. He was 95 years old. He was born on March 4, 1930 in the Town of Rolling, a son of Paul and Kathryn (Lenzner) Prodoehl. He married LaVonne "Bonnie" Draeger on February 19, 1955 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Antigo. She preceded him in death on May 11, 2019.
He was a graduate of Antigo High School. A Korean War veteran, Corporal John Prodoehl served in the United States Marine Corps as a helicopter mechanic stationed in Japan. Following his time in the service he returned home and took over his parents dairy farm in the town of Rolling. He farmed for 40 years until his retirement. After his retirement in 1992 Jack and Bonnie built their dream home on Bass Lake.
He was a member of SS Mary & Hyacinth Catholic Church, the Monsignor Conrad Saile Council 1002 Knights of Columbus and the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge 662 all in Antigo.
Jack loved to bake and cook. He also looked forward to canning season. He was always so proud of his canned goods and would share with family and friends. He enjoyed golfing and was especially proud of his hole in one, playing cards anytime there were five people to play Sheepshead, spending time with his family, and trips to Florida and Hawaii.
Survivors include three daughters, Laura (Dave) Packard of Antigo, Leah (Chuck) Ludlum of Madison, and Carmen (Brian) Perrodin of Tomahawk; two sons, Pete (Cindy) Prodoehl of Deerbrook and Ft. Meyers, FL and John (Stacey) Prodoehl of Kaukauna; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Dan (Diane) Prodoehl of North Lake; and a sister-in-law, Janet Prodoehl of West Bend. He is also survived by two golfing friends, Earl and Bill; and church friend, Elmer.
In addition to his wife and parents, Jack was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Prodoehl, Jr. and William Prodoehl; a nephew, Billy Prodoehl; and a great friend, Marlow.
A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, May 31, at 11 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church with the Very Reverend Joel Sember officiating. A private burial will take place at Hall Pioneer Cemetery in the town of Rolling.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 31 from 9 to 11 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church in Hoffmann Hall.
Military Honors will be held at the church following the Mass.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in Jack's name.
