John J. Psarakis

John passed away with his loving wife beside him. John and Mitzi were married December 18, 1976. Their love was a storybook love affair. They worked together. They were always together. Mitzi's mom always said they were two peas in a pod! Always together enjoying life and love.

He is survived by his wife Mitzi. His brother Jess Psarakis of Lake Haversu, Arizona, nephew Forrest (Kim) Psarakis and great niece Mia, niece Rachel and great niece Louisa, sister-in-law Bertie Psarakis, nephew Paul (Jo) Csakany, great niece Erin, and nephew Chris (Carol) Csakany.

He was preceded in death by his parents George Psarakis and Mary Urso and his younger brother George Psarakis.

He was a bricklayer and built a home for his bride. He was so good at it, he became a custom home builder and developer. A woman came along and wanted to buy it, that started him out building 20 homes that year, Psarakis Custom Homes. He developed Ashford Hills a custom area with all brick homes, it was a one of a kind development. He was in business for 30 years.

He was fortunate to retire before his 50th birthday. John was an avid golfer. He had 7 holes in one. He was a member of Morris Park Country Club for about 30 years. Made wonderful friends and great times. When he retired he wanted to travel and play many different golf courses. He loved Pebble Beach, Kapalua in Maui, Hawaii where John and Mitzi spent their winters there after retirement. Also, they spent time in Vegas where he played Red Rock Golf and Shadow Creek where he had one of his 7 holes in one.

John always said retiring early we can always go back. They were fortunate enough to see five of the seven wonders of the world. We always felt very blessed and thought we were the luckiest couple to have had such a very special love to have been together to share so much. Sleep my darling!

I want to thank all of the wonderful people that took care of John. Comfort Care and their staff. The wonderful nurses, Jen, Holly, and Juanita from Luminary.

To my beloved husband John, our love was so special. We always said we were so lucky to have found each other. I cannot begin to say how special of a man that you were. I always felt very lucky to have been your wife.

We always loved being together. No matter what we did, traveling, sitting by the water having dinner with friends, working together or playing golf, Even though he was a great golfer and his wife was not. He loved the idea that we were together. My love for you is forever my love. God has you in his arms and I know you are at peace. I love you my Johnny. You our now with our families that have passed before us. Corinthians 13:12. Someday we will be together again. Sleep my love. Johnny.

Funeral services will be celebrated at 11:00am Tuesday, February 24, 2026 in St. Andrew Greek Orthodox Church. Family and friends may visit one hour prior to services in the church. Private burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Zahoran Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements. In John's memory make donations to Luminary, or to any charity of your choice. To his buddies on the course playing a round thinking of him.
