John Radwick Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Snyder Funeral Homes, Lexington Avenue Chapel on Sep. 18, 2025.
John T. Radwick went home to be with our Lord on September 15, 2025. He was 85 years

old.

John was born on February 20, 1940, in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, to Joseph Radwick and

Elizabeth Fellows Radwick. The family moved to Upper Sandusky, Ohio, early in John's

childhood. He graduated from Upper Sandusky High School in 1958.

In January 1959, John left home for the Army. He attended basic training at Fort Knox,

Kentucky, and Army Finance School at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana. He was then

assigned to the 21st Infantry Regiment ("Gimlet") 25th Infantry Division at Schofield

Barracks, Hawaii. After an honorable discharge in 1962, John moved to Mansfield, where

he met Ruth Ann Oyster. They married, began a family and soon moved to Lexington.

After the Army, John began work with City Loan and Savings in Mansfield. He later moved

on to work for the Tappan Company as a manager of accounts receivable. John also

worked for White-Westinghouse, and finally retired from TRW/Kelsey-Hayes in Mount

Vernon.

John was a long-time member of Resurrection Catholic Parish in Lexington, where he was

also a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a charter member of the Lexington

Elks Club, and also a member of the Mansfield AMVETS. He supported numerous

veterans' organizations and other charitable groups. John was an American patriot who

was proud of his Army service and his country. He lived in Lexington for nearly 60 years

and enjoyed spending most of his time at home, grilling on the back porch and chatting

with his neighbors.

John was an avid sports fan – a die-hard follower of the Cleveland Guardians, Browns,

Cavaliers, the Ohio State Buckeyes and Lexington High School Minutemen. He also

enjoyed spending time at his camper on Lake Erie in Marblehead, Ohio, and playing cards

at the Danbury Senior Center near Lakeside-Marblehead.

He is survived by his sister Elizabeth (Don) Montgomery, son Michael (Patricia) Radwick,

daughter Susan (Jeff) Burgess, grandsons Derek (Jeanna) Weirick, Alexander Radwick

and Nicholas Radwick, and great-granddaughter Quinn Marie Weirick. He is preceded in

death by his father Joseph Radwick, mother Betty Radwick, brother Jim Radwick, and

former wife Ruth Ann Oyster.

The family would like to thank the staff and caregivers at Lexington Court Care Center and

Southern Care Hospice Services for the care and support they gave to John during his last

days.

Friends may call Monday, September 22, 2025 from 4:30 pm, with a time of prayer and public sharing and reflection, to 7 pm in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home (2553 Lexington Ave., Mansfield, OH 44904). Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 am at Resurrection Parish and burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.

Memorial donations may be made to Resurrection Parish as the parish undergoes renovations, or Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
