John D. Ratzlaff, 74, of Liberal, passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2026 at Wheatridge Park Care Center in Liberal, Kansas.
He was born on December 24, 1951 to John and Marjorie (Hightower) Ratzlaff at Liberal, Kansas.
He attended Liberal schools and graduated from Liberal High School; class of 1970. After graduating from LHS he attended West Texas Tech in Canyon, Texas where he played football on a scholarship. After two years at West Texas Tech he enlisted in the U.S. Army and was stationed at Fort Hood and Germany. John worked as a computer technician for Storage Tech, he lived in Denver Colorado, Wisconsin, and New York. When John moved to Liberal he worked at Seward County Community College from which he retired in 2017.
In his spare time, John enjoyed woodworking and golfing. John enjoyed making contributions to St. Jude and the Shriners Hospital, he loved animals and little kids he believed in helping kids because "little kids need help."
John is survived by his daughter, Angela Blubaugh of Oklahoma City, OK; Three Brothers, Arlo Ratzlaff of Liberal, KS, Larry Ratzlaff of Liberal, KS, Randy Ratzlaff of Amarillo, TX.
He was preceded in death by Father, John Harvey Ratzlaff, Mother, Marjorie Evelyn Ratzlaff, Brother, Richard Ratzlaff.
No visitation will be held as cremation will take place.
