Barbara Jean Ratzlaff, 83, of Pocomoke City passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at her home.
Born August 23, 1942 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Robert Mills and Bessie (Brown) Watson. She and her husband, Roger, celebrated 45 years of marriage November 13, 2025.
Barbara enjoyed watching movies and reading. She loved to travel and especially enjoyed time spent in San Francisco. Barbara was proud of her flower garden that Roger maintained.
She was an entertainer and always held parties for all of her friends. Barbara was a follower of fashion and was known to be the most colorful lady in the room with her hats highlighting her look.
Barbara retired from Southern Pacific Railroad in 1994. She had also worked at a hospital for physically challenged children where she often gave them day trips to many local places.
She raised four children on her own until she met Roger. Their blended family was then increased to six children that they loving raised.
Survivors in addition to her husband include six children, Jeannie Bale, Cyrene Ratzlaff, Aaron Ratzlaff, Tina Bale, Teri Bale and Cheryl Mason; grandchildren, Michael, Ashlee, Christopher, Cameron, Rachel, Maureen, Roger, Melissa and Bradley; great-grandchildren, Teagan, Bayren, Tawny and Lily; siblings, Sally Mills, Butch Watson, Jerry Watson and Susan Watson.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
