John Ivey Reid, 70 of Moravian Falls, died Wednesday, December 20, 2023. He was born in Iredell County to the late Jack Reid and Jean Madison Bingham.
John loved fishing, camping, and just being outdoors. He loved living in Wilkes County and called the mountain behind his house, “his mountain”. He loved his church and had a wonderful sense of humor. John was a retired Registered Nurse. After completing his nursing degree at Mitchell Community College, he went to Harvard. IYKYK
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 20 years, Vicki Cromie Reid, two sons, Luke Reid (Catherine), and Abe Reid, five grandchildren, Caleb, Maggie, Oli, Ruby, and Hank, a brother, Jim Reid, a sister, Ginger Benfield (Phil), several niece & nephews and numerous friends.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, December 30, 2023, at 2:00 pm at Love Valley Presbyterian Church with Bill Bates officiating. The family will visit with friends following the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Love Valley Presbyterian Church, 239 Mitchell Trail Rd., Statesville, NC 28625.
