John D. Reimer, 68, of Walhalla, ND, passed away Saturday, November 29, 2025, at the Pembina County Memorial Hospital in Cavalier, ND. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Boniface Catholic Church in Walhalla, ND. Visitation will be held at the church for one hour before the time of services.
John D. Reimer was born January 17, 1957, at Langdon, ND to Peter and Gertrude (Dreidger) Reimer. He attended school at Walhalla and graduated from Walhalla High School. John then served in the U.S. Air Force and the North Dakota National Guard. After his honorable discharge from the service, he worked for Laverne Verville on his farm and at the Yamaha dealership in Walhalla. John also worked for Clark Farms, Stremick Farms, the International Boundary Commission, and Simplot. John was also very active in the Knights of Columbus and American Legion in Walhalla.
He loved camping, cooking, and grilling, and spending time with his family. During the annual Corn and Apple Festival in Morden, Manitoba, he was able to spend time with his Canadian family, which he enjoyed.
On August 12, 1978, he married Carolyn Dearinger at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Walhalla. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn, children: David Reimer, Walhalla, ND, John P. (Heather) Reimer, West Fargo, ND, Michael Reimer, Walhalla, ND, Natasha Reimer (fiancé, Wyatt Knoke), Salt Lake City, UT, Ethan Reimer, Grafton, ND, Preston Reimer, Walhalla, ND, Max (Natoshia) Reimer, Bismarck, ND, grandchildren; Hunter (Kinsey), Noah, and Emily. Also surviving are his siblings; Bill (Rhonda) Reimer, Margaret Gadaire, Eva Riendeau, Mark (Patti) Reimer, Harold (Lori) Reimer; his mother-in-law, Doris Dearinger; and siblings-in-law: Myrna Styles, Richard (Rose) Dearinger, Rodney (Gina) Dearinger, and Lorna (Stacy) Hiebert.
Preceding him in death were his parents: Peter Reimer, Gertrude Reimer, stepmother, Ruth Reimer, and father-in-law, Alvin Dearinger.
