John Russell "Rusty" Reynolds

John Russell "Rusty" Reynolds, age 64, of Erie and formerly of Troy, Ohio passed away Tuesday, June 11th, 2024, after a battle with cancer. Born in Marion, Indiana on November 10, 1959, he was the son of the late Maurice V. and Barbara (Butler) Reynolds.
Rusty worked as a Quality Engineer for Goodrich Aerospace and also in "retirement" for Zurn Industries.
He was an adventurer at heart, and his love of sailing saw him sail to places all over the Gulf of Mexico and Japan. Rusty was an accomplished musician and played in many bands over the years as a guitarist and singer. He was truly the happiest with his friends and family around him with a guitar in his hand telling stories and bad jokes. He volunteered countless hours to being a Boy Scout leader, basketball coach, and coaching soccer. He always took time to teach someone how to do something with patience and grace. Clear Lake in Indiana held a place close to his heart, but nothing was closer than his children and grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a nephew, David Reynolds, and a dear friend Randy Rinearson.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Pamela A. (Adams) Reynolds whom he married on February 18, 1984; two children, John Russell Reynolds, Jr., wife Julia, of Zionsville, IN and Mary Clarice Fulker, husband Sam, of Troy, OH; six grandchildren, Beatrice, Jovia, Oliver, and Winslow Reynolds and Rowan and Maclan Fulker as well as a baby boy to be born soon to Mary Clarice and Sam; three brothers, Thad Reynolds, wife Tina, of Marion, IN; Chris Reynolds, wife Lee, of Tampa FL, and Rick Reynolds, wife Debbie, of Inverness, FL; a brother-in-law, David Adams, wife Roberta, of Ligonier, PA; dear friends, Eric Tyler, wife Kit, of Clear Lake, IN and Donita Rinearson of Vilonia, AR; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life for Rusty will be held later this summer in Troy, Ohio at a place to be announced.
