John Reynolds, a cherished brother, uncle, and friend, passed away at the age of 66 on December 17, 2025, at Ogden Regional Medical Center in Ogden, Utah, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Jefferson City, Missouri, on February 28, 1959, to the late Thomas and Mary Reynolds, John's life was marked by his deep love for his family, his passion for the great outdoors, and his unwavering kindness to all living creatures.
John grew up in a lively household with his siblings and developed a fondness for adventure early in life. His formative years in Missouri's natural beauty instilled in him a lifelong appreciation for the serenity of nature. As a young man, John could often be found camping under the stars, fishing in the tranquility of dawn, or simply enjoying the company of his beloved dogs. His gentle spirit and infectious laughter made every outdoor excursion a treasured memory for those who accompanied him.
Throughout his life, John's commitment to his family remained steadfast. He was a pillar of support and a source of boundless love. He is lovingly remembered by his sister, Evelyn Reynolds Geilmann (Nolan Geilmann), and his adoring nephews and nieces: Ian Carver, Christopher Reynolds, Thomas Reynolds the third, Shelby Daughtee, and Ashley Jones. Each of them carries forward the light of his spirit in their own lives, guided by his example of compassion and generosity.
John's legacy is also shaped by the absence of his two brothers, Danny Reynolds and Tommy Reynolds, who preceded him in death. Together, the Reynolds siblings shared an unbreakable bond, and John's memories of them brought him comfort and joy even in his final days.
Those who knew John can attest to his unwavering positivity, even in the face of life's challenges. His resilience and strength were as much a part of him as his genial nature. John's passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him, but his influence will continue to be felt through the countless acts of kindness he performed and the gentle guidance he provided.
As we say goodbye to John Reynolds, we celebrate a life well-lived and a man deeply loved. His journey on earth has ended, but the stories of his kindness, the warmth of his smile, and the joy he brought to others will forever be cherished. John's spirit, like the rivers he so loved to fish, will continue to flow through the lives of his family and friends, a reminder of a life marked by love, adventure, and the simple pleasures of a life lived in harmony with nature.
At his request no formal services will be provided. Instead, the family will gather to spread his ashes at a later date. The family would like to thank Leavitt's Mortuary for their kind compassionate care as well as the nurses at Ogden Regional Medical Center and the care team at Canyon Home Health and Hospice.
