John enjoyed time with his family, was known as a generous person with a big heart who would help anyone in need. He was a firearms enthusiast, enjoyed riding 4 wheelers and snow mobiles, and he raced cars. He retired from the NYS DOT in 2023. John owned and operated Ribble's Lawn care.
He is survived by his wife, Sally, children, Tabitha Stevens of Penn Yan, John A. Ribble Jr of Kane, PA, Rachel Stahl of Bath, Stephanie (Chris) Kirkland of Orlando, Fla, step son Chris (Candice) McDougal of Avoca, 14 grandchildren, 1 great grandson, siblings, James Ribble Sr. of Penn Yan, Gloria LaRue of Howard, Jeffrey Ribble Sr. of Bath, and Carl LeRoy Ribble of Bradford, many nieces and nephews, and his beloved dogs, Brody, Mama Belle " and Speckled Trout". John was predeceased by his daughter-in-law, Andrea Schwartz and former spouse, Frances A. Elliott.
Family and friends are invited to gather at Phillips Funeral Home, 17 West Pulteney Street on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 from 4:00 to 7:00pm. A celebration of John's life will take place at His Tabernacle Family Church, 16 Level Acres Dr, Horseheads, on Wednesday at 10:00am. Burial will follow at Seamans Cemetery.
Those wishing may make donations in Johns to one's local SPCA or animal shelter.
