Obituary published on Legacy.com by Acly-Stover Funeral Home - Corning on Mar. 26, 2026.
Mary F. Simons, 61, of Campbell, passed away unexpectedly at home on March 19, 2026, leaving behind a family who loved her deeply and will miss her more than words can express. Born October 9, 1964, in Dundee, Mary lived a life centered on love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to her family. She was a woman who gave of herself freely, always putting the needs of those she loved before her own, and creating a home filled with warmth, comfort, and joy.
Mary's hands were always busy, whether at work as an inspector for World Kitchen in Corning, where her attention to detail and quiet dedication earned the respect of colleagues, or at home, where she poured herself into her family. She loved hard and plainly: family came first, and her life revolved around their needs, their joys, and their stories. Work and family were not separate spheres for Mary; they were the heartbeat of her every day.
If there was ever a room that needed light and laughter, Mary brought it. She had a sense of humor that could lift a heavy heart and a laugh that made strangers feel like old friends. She was "a riot," as many would say, quick with a joke, ready to tease, and always finding the funny thread in ordinary moments. She loved the simple pleasures: trips to the casino with friends, the spark of excitement at a table, and the shared stories afterward. But what she treasured most were the quiet, ordinary moments with her grandchildren, holding them, watching them grow, and delighting in their small triumphs. Ariel Paisley and Luca Eric, a step-grandchild she loved as her own, were constant sources of joy.
She is survived by her loving husband, Michael Simons of Campbell; her daughter, Danielle Smith of Campbell; her son, Michael Simons Jr. of Campbell; her beloved grandchildren, Ariel, Paisley, Eric, and Luca; her sisters, Betty Miller (Tom) of Lockport and Kim Cogovan of Medina; her brother, Fred Grimm of Campbell; sister in-laws Brandy Simons and Susan Simons, along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends who will miss her deeply. She was predeceased by her mother Dorothy Campbell and brother, Bill Grimm.
Mary will be remembered as a caring, strong, and deeply loving woman whose presence brought light into the lives of all who knew her. Her family takes comfort in the memories they shared and the love she gave so freely, which will continue to live on in their hearts.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
