Robbins John "JR" Gerald Robbins, a devoted and caring husband, father and grandfather, died on Monday, July 11, 2011 in the Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, GA. Mr. Robbins who lived in Lower Providence Township, PA was 62 years old and was the loving husband of 38 years to Sandra A. (nee Pearson) Robbins. "JR" was born in Norristown on April 3, 1949 a son to the late Ronald and Clarissa (nee Jenkins) Robbins. Mr. Robbins formerly owned and operated JR Excavating, Inc. His interests included motorcycles, gardening, and spending time with his family at their beach home in Maryland. He was affiliated with several motorcycle organizations throughout his life and was a member of Operating Engineers Union Local 542. His daughter Lisa A. Larkin and her husband Kyle W. of Norristown and a son John G. Robbins, Jr. also of Norristown and his fiancée Lindsay A. Brault survive him along with his grandchildren Brock and Juliette Larkin. His siblings Ida Jane Heyser and her husband John of Collegeville, PA, Charlotte Reed and her husband Bill of Orange City, FL, Barry Robbins of Perkasie, Jerry Robbins and his wife Kathy of Trappe, PA, Robin Parker of Norristown, and Edward Robbins and his wife Heidi of Trooper, PA, also survive him. His brothers Ronald and David Robbins also preceded him in death. His sisters-in-law Marion Robbins of Green Lane, PA and Barbara Robbins-Arthur of Warrington PA survive him also along with many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to share in "JR's" Life Celebration at the Boyd-Horrox Funeral Home of East Norriton, PA, 200 West Germantown Pike, (1-800-GIVNISH) on Sunday, July 17, 2011 from 1100 AM and until the time of funeral service at 3:00 PM. Burial will be private. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials in Mr. Robbins memory can be sent to Piedmont Transplant Institute, c/o Jackie Smith, 1968 Peachtree Road, Atlanta, GA 30309.
