Born in Miami, Florida, on June 19, 1941, to the late Queen Jessie Bostick and John Roberts Sr., John's early life took him from Florida to South Carolina before he eventually made Philadelphia, Pennsylvania-and later Delaware-his home. He received his formal education through the Philadelphia School District.

Following his military service, he embarked on a successful business career beginning in 1968 with the opening of Robertsville International, building a name for himself as a committed and enterprising figure in the Philadelphia community. More than just a businessman, John was a tireless advocate for his community-deeply engaged in local politics and civic efforts. His dedication to helping others was felt by many.
On May 26, 1991, John married the love of his life, Stacey Roberts. Their partnership was one of strength, mutual respect, and shared devotion to family and community.
A man known for his strong principles, thoughtful opinions, and unwavering integrity, John brought wisdom and heart into every space he entered. He was passionate about reading, educating & encouraging those around him, and sharing his love of knowledge. He also enjoyed the simple joys in life-especially a good game of pool.
