To Barbara and family,
Please accept my condolences on the passing of John. I am so sorry for your loss. I had the pleasure of serving with John in the State Senate. He was also classmate in Leadership Rhode Island in 1990. John was admired and respected by all. He leaves a wonderful lasting legacy in his family and his community service in the State of Rhode Island.
May happy memories help to reduce the sadness that are now experiencing. RIP John.

I remember John well being a fellow classmate at St. John's College Military High School. John was a very funny guy and somewhat of a class clown. He is without a doubt another one of SJC's successes.

Condolences to John's family. A good person with whom I often disagreed but it was never disagreeable. He will be missed at the Bar for his conscientious leadership.

I send profound condolences to Barbara and all members of John's family. A few words to describe John: smart, fair, compassionate, humorous. I first met John at Providence College just as it was emerging as a nationally-recognized basketball power Neither of us was especially enamored with sports per se but we enjoyed the social aspect a lot.
We re-established our friendship years later in Providence.
We served together in the R.I. State Senate where John displayed his astute understanding of the law,and his deep concern about serving the needs of people. He was admired and respected by his colleagues - combining his keen grasp of the legislative process and a commitment to doing the right thing with a readiness to listen to others. All of this was imbued with an endearing warmth and a delightful sense of humor. He was a unique individual, very much comfortable in his own skin and unafraid to be different or take stands even if they went against the grain.
I will miss him and I will keep him in my prayers.
