John Raeford "Ray" Roscoe, 63, of Rockingham, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 29, 2025 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst.

He was born April 7, 1962, in Richmond County, son of Grady Raeford Roscoe and the late Linda Ann Black Roscoe.

Ray was a hard-worker and took great pride in providing for his family. He enjoyed working, mostly in welding, and was an all-around handyman. He loved to work on cars, ride ATV's and motorcycles, fishing, bowling, and was a fan of NASCAR. Ray also spent time working at the Helping Hands of Hamlet Food Bank.

Of all the enjoyments in life, Ray's greatest blessings were his family that he dearly loved. He enjoyed spending time with them during family gatherings or at home. He will be missed by all of his family and friends.

Ray is preceded in death by his mother, Linda Ann Black Roscoe.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Margaret Freeman Roscoe of the home; sons, Chris Roscoe of Cordova and Adam Roscoe (Kelly) of Rockingham; his father, Grady Raeford Roscoe of Wallace, SC; grandchildren, Maverick, Alivia, Benjamin, and Karlee; brother, Grady Roscoe, Jr. (Elaine) of Wallace, SC; sisters, Faye Quick (Bruce) of Hamlet and Sherry Lane (Keith) of Cheraw, SC; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Tuesday, September 2, 2025, from 12 noon-1:00pm at the Hamlet Church of God of Prophecy.

The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation, beginning at 1:00pm, with Pastor Steve Crews and Pastor Aaron Lane officiating. Burial will follow at True Gospel Emanuel Holiness Church Cemetery, Wallace, SC.

At other times, the family will receive friends at the home of his son, Adam, 130 Windy Knoll, Rockingham.

Memorials may be made in Ray's memory to: Helping Hands of Hamlet, Inc., 615 Cheraw Road, Hamlet, NC 28345.
