John Rothman Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Vazquez Funeral Home - Spring Branch Chapel on May 11, 2024.
On Monday, May 6, 2024, John Patrick "Pat" Rothman of Needville, Texas, loving father of two and grandfather of five, passed away peacefully at the age of 63 in Houston, Texas. Pat was born on March 20, 1961, in El Paso, Texas to Lewis and Lu Rothman where he spent most of his childhood. In 1976, the family relocated to Alief, Texas, a then small suburb just outside of Houston where he quickly made countless lifelong friends and further pursued two of his favorite passions, hunting and fishing. Pat's passion for the outdoors was only surpassed by his devotion to his family, both immediate and extended. He graduated from Alief Elsik High School in 1979 as a member of the school's first graduating class. Pat immediately took a job as a printing press operator and was then instrumental in the creation and running of the family's printing business. Years later, he utilized his skills to repair power tools and equipment for the commercial construction industry.
Pat is preceded in death by his mother and father, Lu and Lewis Rothman as well as his grandson, Tristan Rothman. He is survived by his children, John Rothman and Jillian Henriksen (Todd); his grandchildren Summer Salyer (Austin), Drake, Shelli, and Luke Rothman; his siblings Mitzi Kelly, Lewis Rothman, and Stanley Rothman (Carol); and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews as well as former spouses Terrie Skeens and Mary Jo Rothman who he maintained close relationships with. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Pat with the date and time to be announced once the arrangements are finalized to accommodate out-of-state family and friends.

Pat was such a good man with a heart of gold. He loved his family more than anything in this world with his children and grandchildren being the light of his life. He was an amazing cook, farmer (especially asparagus), loved hunting, fishing, and sports in general. There was nothing this man didn´t know how to fix. I have so many positive memories of him from playing darts, watching Astros games, watching hallmark movies, and loved his sense of humor. I am deeply grateful for the memories I have of him and the things he went out of his way to do for me. He was one of those rare people who would give you the shirt off his own back even if he didn´t have another one to his name. May he rest peacefully and eternally with God.
