John Rudolph Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Allison and Rose Funeral Home on Aug. 31, 2024.
JOHN "JACK" LLOYD RUDOLPH, passed away Tuesday evening, June 4, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Jack was born in Covington, Kentucky and raised on Busse Street, was a graduate of Covington Catholic High School, and a long-time member of St. Augustine Parish in Covington. He was a Navy Veteran, an industrial electrician at Interlake and Newport Steel Companies, and a retired maintenance supervisor with VA Medical Center, Cincinnati, Ohio, and Fort Thomas, Kentucky. Never one to sit still, in retirement Jack also worked part time at Kenton County Golf Course and Ace Hardware, Independence, Kentucky, where he was affectionately referred to as "The Plumber." There really was not a household maintenance problem Jack couldn't fix. And he loved nothing more than being Mr. Fixit for himself, as well as his children and grandchildren. Though there might have been occasional grumbling that came along with those fixes.
To his family, Jack was the greatest man they have ever known. He was a truly amazing man who was kind to everyone he met. Jack certainly passed along many of his values and strong work ethic to his children. For that, they are extremely thankful. Jack loved traveling with Terry, his children, and grandchildren, playing golf, and doing woodworking in his basement shop. He was a big Kentucky Wildcats fan and enjoyed watching basketball through the good times, as well as the recent times. But, what Jack really loved was just sitting on the back deck with Terry, and talking with family and friends while sipping on some bourbon.
Jack is survived by Terry, his wonderful wife of 52 and a half years, his four children Mike (Rhonda), Brian (Jessie Bradley), Jennifer (Danny) Colemire, and Matt (Lisa), his grandchildren Jodi (Bradley) Caudill, Emily (Justin) Bonnell, Amanda (Kenny) Squazzo, Davey, Jesse, Xander, Abby, and Logan, six great grandchildren, his brothers Doug (Marlene), Dale (Diane), Mark (Lynda), Dan (Sue), and Greg, sisters-in-law Cinda, Flo, and Coleen, as well as multitudes of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Virginia (Bishop) Rudolph and his brother Kenneth.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association, or St. Joseph's Indian School, Chamberlain, SD.
Please join the family in celebrating Jack's life on Sunday, June 9, 2024, from 1:00-5:00 PM, at the Covington Fireman's Union Hall located at 2232 Howell St, Covington, KY 41014.
