John William Russo, of Marshfield, passed away January 6, 2026, at the age of 92. He was born in Boston on November 14, 1933, raised in Dorchester and lived in Milton and Harwich, before moving to The Village at Proprietor's Green in Marshfield in 2023.
John was the son of the late Graziano and Josephine (DiStefano) Russo. He was predeceased by his siblings; Biagio Russo, Sandra (Russo) Fellows, James Russo, and Conchetta (Russo) Vincent. John graduated from Hyde Park High School and then entered the military where he was part of an intelligence team based in France. He also attended the New England Institute of Art. The arts played a significant role in his life. He loved music and was a long-time theater enthusiast with a group of friends. John was a painter-many family members have at least one of his treasured pieces. He made his living decorating homes and refinishing furniture. John enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking. He is well-known for his bread & butter pickles, biscottis, and cannolis.
Everyone who had met John loved him. He will be missed dearly by all family, friends, neighbors, and acquaintances.
