so sorry to hear about the loss to the Sabados family of truly a good soul, John Sabados, a fellow Mendel Catholic Monarch, class of 1969 and a former intramural basketball teammate of mine for a number of years there. I always
enjoyed the camaraderie with John and the Hegewisch boys, Steve Blaszak, Al Konopka, Mike Lachanski back in the day on the south side of Chicago.

A really great classmate and all around good guy. Hung out with him at times at Mendel.

I married a Seton girl too - Diane DesForges `70 - like he married Chris.

My condolences to the entire Sabados Family.
We will all miss John.
I met John at St. Mary´s in fall of 1969. I last saw him in Winona at our 50th reunion. He was the same guy, just a little older. He had the same dynamic personality, impressive memory, endless energy, a fantastic organizer, great sense of humor and had a huge heart.
At St Marys in APO he was a significant contributor in the Big Brother and Food To The Needy programs......And many social events!
I have one short story to share. It was about 9 PM on a week night. It was our sophomore year. I was in the dorm lounge in Benilde Hall working on a term paper. I had many resources spread over the table with pages of notes. It was due the next day. I needed to compile my notes and type the paper. The problem is I was a hunt and peck typist at the time. John offered to type the paper for me and said wake me up when you´re ready. So at 4 AM I woke John up. He came down to the lounge with his portable typewriter and cranked out about 10 pages. We made the deadline! Thanks John.
John had a way of making you feel good when you were around him....John you will be missed by all.

I am so very sorry for your loss. I never had the pleasure of meeting John personally, but working with him at Diversified Labeling Solutions was an utter joy! When the phone rang here and it was John, I knew it would be a productive and FUN interaction. Working with him always left me feeling appreciated and I have so much respect and admiration for how kind and knowledgeable he was. He will be greatly missed.
